this Weekend (June 25th & 26th) Zen Meditation Class "How to Live in a Moment" (Shunkoin Temple) & Flea Market (Kitano Tenmangu Shrine)



"Living in the moment" and "impermanency" are the keys to understanding Zen Buddhism.


Many gardenias are blooming at Shunkoin Temple. You can meditate with the fresh scent of gardenias wafting in the air.



June 25th
9:00 - 10:30 in English (no reservation required)
10:40 - 12:10 Charity Meditation Class and Dharma Talk in Japanese 「よくわかる座禅会:今の生き方 と守・破・離」
13:30 - 15:00 in English (reservation required) 

Also, there is the flea market at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine on June 25th. It's about 15 - 20 minutes away from Shunkoin Temple on foot. You can also take Kyoto City Busy #10 from Shunkoin Temple to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, as well (5 minutes).

June 26th

Zen Meditation Class & Dharma Talk (90 Minutes): Learn How to Live in a Moment

When you can understand the practical reasons why the Zen traditional practices and rituals were done in the certain way, you are able to incorporate Zen Buddhist philosophy and meditation into your life. Rev. Taka Kawakami answer your questions about Zen Buddhism and meditation. The idea of "living in a moment" can change your life.

Zen meditation class & tour in English: 2000 yen
Zen meditation only: 1000 yen

A portion of your meditation fee goes to the donation to the victims in the affected areas from the earthquake and tsunami on March 11th, 2011.

To attend the class at 9:00 - 10:30 and 10:40 -12:10, no reservation is required. However, please the reservation to attend our 13:30 - 15:00 class.
